Season outlook: The Lady Trojans got off to a very slow start last fall, then caught fire at the end of the season to make the state tournament. Carrollton hopes to pick up where it left off last season. With six returners, including three seniors, the Lady Trojans should be able to challenge for a postseason berth. Catcher Kristi Taylor (.311 avg., 15 RBIs) gives Carrollton a strong nucleus to build around.

The program has steadily improved during the past few seasons and several players who didn�t start last year but received playing time are expected to fill some key positions.

Season outlook: If some younger players can step up, Cass could be back in the postseason chase after a solid season in 2006. Six starters are back, including ace pitcher Hanah Hight (10-2, 1.32 ERA). A pair of offensive sparkplugs return � catcher Jessie King (.390 avg., 4 HR) and infielder Lisha Jensen (.322 avg.).

Season outlook: It might be hard to duplicate last season�s success � school record 36 wins and a state runner-up finish � but the Lady Lions should be a state contender once again. Seven starters are back, including junior Nicole Yancey (.479 avg., 16 HR, 42 RBIs), senior Brianna Williams (.365 avg., 14 2B, 34 RBIs) and junior Brittany Ivey (.387 avg., 7 2B, 29 RBIs). Yancey returns on the hill after posting 19 wins and a 0.79 ERA last year. �

Season outlook: After making a trip to the state tournament last season, Sandy Creek hopes to take things a step farther this fall. There are some key positions to fill but the Lady Patriots have six returners who will make an immediate impact. Keep an eye on the versatile Megan Kallatsa (.336 avg.), one of the few seniors who will be heavily depended on.�

Season outlook: A young team in 2006, the Lady Wildcats hope their talent has matured and pays big dividends this fall. Villa Rica will still be young, however, a talented group of sophomores are expected to help carry the load. Senior Chasity Ayers will be expected to provide solid leadership but keep an eye on sophomore Heather Daniell, who batted .309 last season as a freshman.
