Season outlook: The Lady Falcons are still very young, having no seniors on their squad. The good news is that eight returning starters are back. Sophomore Jessica Harper (.376 avg.) and juniors Lauren Gibbs (.366 avg.) and Alyssa Jannakos (.364 avg.) return to lead the offense, while junior Brooke Thompson will be expected to lead a young pitching staff.

Season outlook: Gainesville struggled last season but hopes to get things turned around this year. Eight returning starters are back, including pitcher Caitlyn Ludwig. There are no returning seniors, leaving a strong group of juniors and a talented sophomore class to carry the load. If this team can get some confidence, they could improve on last year�s record.

Season outlook: Johnson struggled last season but should be much-better in 2007. Seven starters are back, including five seniors who will be expected to provide strong leadership to a talented group of sophomores and juniors. Infielders Heather Stringer and Stephanie Morotti can do a little bit of everything and will be heavily counted on.

Season outlook: Lumpkin County made the state tournament last season and should be back in the postseason chase again this fall. The Lady Indians played a lot of players last season and that experience should pay off. Offense shouldn�t be a problem. Chelsey Edelberg (.493 avg.) and junior Emily Gadis (.495 avg.) return after batting near .500 last year.

Season outlook: Pickens made the state sectionals for the third time in the past four years in 2006 and could make another run at the postseason this fall. Six starters return, including talented shortstop Sadie Walker. Catcher Lindsey Logan, a second-team all-state selection in 2006, also returns. One question mark is the pitching staff, which appears to be very young.
