ROME LADY WOLVES

Assistant Coach (s): Mark Strucher

2006 record: 9-21

College Prospects: RHP Brittany Adams (Sr.); SS Sydney Bush (Sr.); OF Kristina Adkins (Sr.); INF/OF Christian Edwards (Sr.); C/OF Sarah Huffman (Sr.)

Season outlook: Last season, Rome lost several games by less than a couple of runs. Those could have been easily won. If the Lady Wolves can figure out to win those close games, they could contend for a postseason berth this fall. Eight returning starters are back, including a trio of seniors in Brittany Adams, Sydney Bush and Kristina Adams.

SOUTHEAST WHITFIELD LADY RAIDERS

Assistant Coach (s): Kelley Barton, Morgan McDonald

2006 record: 14-17-1

Other returning players: U Ashley McCutcheon (So.)

Top newcomers: RHP Kasey Hendrick (Fr.): C Ashley Strong (Fr.): RHP/INF Breanna Sosebee (Fr.); RHP/C/INF Kiersten Smith (Fr.)

Season outlook: After a year of transition last fall, Southeast should improve on last seasons record in 2007 and make a run at a postseason berth. Six returning starters, including a strong senior class, will help out. Right-handed pitcher Chelsea Krafft returns after a promising junior campaign. The strength of the team will be a solid defense who performed admirably last year.
